COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course gives the trainees the necessary thermodynamic background, allowing for an excellent and complete understanding of oil and gas processing aspects.
PREREQUISITES
Chemistry of hydrocarbons and IUPAC nomenclature system (else the course will be adapted)
PARTICIPANTS WILL
Learn the detailed composition of a wellhead stream
Learn how to properly characterize well effluents
Acquire an excellent understanding of liquid - vapor equilibria of hydrocarbon systems
Know how to classify hydrocarbons reservoirs
Gain a thermodynamic understanding of oil and gas processing aspects and specifications
Understand principles of thermodynamic modelling, learn mostly used equations of state and coeffcient activity models
Perform flash calculations

OBSERVATIONS
If time permitting, applications are suggested at the end of each chapter with the aim to enhance the theoretical aspects understanding. Else, participants will go through a 5- minutes quiz.
